This week I thought, "I want to do something completely different". I was given a beautiful bouquet of bright magenta carnations. I thought, "Painting the bouquet realistically might feel a little staid or boring ( though, of course, beautiful as flowers always are)." I decided to go 'loose', very loose. I literally started to throw paint around. I had so much fun. Now I feel like the painting represents the cheery feeling these carnations gave me each time I passed by them in the kitchen.
